The Uffizi
The day started out at the Uffizi Gallery. We had a walking tour that guided us through and gave us a bunch of historical information. Since this occupied the first half of our day, we were free to explore on our own for the second with the exception that we meet up to visit the Accademia Gallery, where Michelangelo's David is located.

Golden Hour - Piazzale Michelangelo
After experiencing the Piazzale Michelangelo during the day, I decided that it would be an even more amazing view during sunset. So, alone for the journey., I trekked back up the long roads. Yet again, I was stunned by the beauty of the cityscape and this time, I had golden hour on my side.

Arlo HaisekWhen I was walking back from dinner, I noticed a door open that had a sign with Haisek on it. Curious as to what it was, I peeked my head inside. At the very back of the shop sat Arlo, diligently working on a small piece of jewelry. He motioned for me inside and I entered, gazing around the room. Arlo told me about his jewelry and how it is all made in his shop. He had just gotten back from a fashion show and was eager to tell me all about it. If you're ever in the Florence area, think about stopping by as all of his jewelry is inside by nature and each piece is one of a kind.
You can also see some of his work here. |
