The Canals
Day three in Venice began with a tour of the Accademia, or Gallerie dell'Accademia. In order to get there, you had to cross a beautifully crafted wooden bridge. It just so happened that at the time of our visit, there was am enormous boat race going on; on of the most popular events of the year. People gathered around the waters edge to view these racers fly by.

Murano
After our museum tour, we took a boat ride over to the island of Murano which is best known for it's glass artistry. Once we arrived on the south side of the island, our group split into two: one would start at a glass factory for a tour and the other was free to explore. Watching the experts manipulate and shape the glass in ways unimaginable was mesmerizing.
I was able to get some time to myself to explore, so I set off in a random direction with the intention of getting lost. As soon as you leave the main street, everything goes quiet. I could walk for a couple of blocks without seeing a soul. It was quite resetting after having been in bustling streets for the past two days.

Street Photography
After having dinner with my family at Rosa Rosa (which was not easy to find), I found myself alone again. I didn't mind as it gave me a chance to collect my thoughts and reset. I of course brought my camera and was rewarded with a bunch of "street photography" opportunities. It was as if almost every corner I turned had a new composition.
